Meet the Team - Jesse van Vooren
We head back over to the Netherlands to meet Sales Administrator Jesse and find out about his ambitions for the future within Corrotherm

Name: Jesse van Vooren
Position: Sales Administrator
Time at Corrotherm: 7 months

Having a strong base of operations in Europe is key for a multinational business like Corrotherm. The Netherlands is often considered the ‘gateway to Europe’ given its prime central location. Just a 1-2 hour flight from London, Paris, Berlin and Geneva, it’s no wonder that the region is home to many businesses.

We’re building a strong team in the region to help reach our customers, and spread the Corrotherm name among top industries. We have recently profiled Karim Righi, who joined us in June as Sales Manager. Karim was approached about joining us by Sales Manager Martijn Verstappen. And now we are talking to the third member of our sales team in the region: Jesse van Vooren.

Jesse has been with Corrotherm for the last seven months as a sales administrator to help with the smooth running of the office. It’s quite a departure for him; he started his career working at a local shop in the Netherlands, but after four years of selling fries, he was looking for something completely different. Along came Martijn and an opportunity with Corrotherm that set him on an entirely new path, one that he is enjoying and showing great success with.

“Because I am still new in this business, I learn something new every day, which is a lot of fun,” explains Jesse. He likes the fact that his work is varied and offers a lot of different experiences day to day. When asked what it is he enjoys most about his role, he says it’s helping Karim and Martijn in the office, learning from their experience. “This [includes] making sure all quotes are entered into ManSys – a global trade management software – checking everything is running smoothly in the warehouse and arranging transport.”

He’s had the chance to meet the team in the UK, helping to strengthen bonds among colleagues, even when working remotely, countries apart. One thing that Jesse has plenty of is ambition. He is hoping to work his way up to Sales Engineer within Corrotherm. From October 2019 he is starting his training on a sales educational programme, which lasts two years. After this is complete, he hopes to focus more on selling the products.

He is just starting to get to grips with the extensive catalogue of Grades that Corrotherm supplies, so he hasn’t got a favourite yet, but his willingness and eagerness to learn certainly shines through. And he is committed to the company already, understanding what it is that makes us tick: “The thing I’m most proud of with [regards to] working for Corrotherm is the fact that everyone is committed to the same cause within the company. If there is a small problem, everyone will drop their work to help you. Which is, in my opinion, what makes a company successful.”

Outside of work, Jesse is passionate about cars and boats. He loves boating and has bought his own boat quite recently. As well as enjoying a beer with friends at the weekends, he also spends time working on his pride and joy, a Saab 9000. He’s hoping to restore this classic Swedish design to its former glory – further evidence of his commitment and attention to detail.

We’re confident that with his easy-going manner and natural ability with people, Jesse is on a path to success with his sales career. We look forward to hearing more from him in the future.
