NILO® Alloy 77

  • UNS N/A
  • WERKSTOFF N/A

Key properties (in annealed condition)

  • Tensile strength: 77–80 Ksi

Composition

  • Nickel (Ni): 77% min
  • Iron (Fe): 13.5% min
  • Copper (Cu): 5% min
  • Molybdenum (Mo): 4.2% min

NILOMAG® alloy 77 is another alloy of Nickel with 13.5 wt% Iron and controlled additions of Copper and Molybdenum which provides a very high level of initial permeability. The material finds application in magnetic shielding devices, amplifiers, transformers, tape recorder heads and memory storage devices. The mechanical properties of the alloy are such that they can be designed into pressure measuring devices such as aircraft anemometers and oil field well pressure measurement instrumentation.
