Nickel 200 is commercially pure wrought nickel grade (>99.0wt percent) and has a number of useful characteristics including good ductility and mechanical properties, permitting fabrications with sound welds to be constructed, particularly in the caustic concentration sector.

The material has been used for the transport of chemicals and aerospace components. In addition due to the materials’ physical properties, including the magnetic and magnetorestrictive properties, thermal and electrical conductivities

and with the capability to be produced as fine wire, the applications for the material have extended into electrical and electronic applications such as high power radio valves and infra red emitters in vacuo.

Nickel 200/201 is frequently dual certified as a result of processing which provides the strength of Nickel 200 with the stability of the compositional controls of Nickel 201.
