Tim_AmorWhen we decide to employ someone, we always measure them on skill, ability, diligence, and the contribution they will bring to Corrotherm and all our customers.

We also like them to be relatively chilled to work with, and have a great sense of humour – and it is for all of those reasons that why we asked Tim Amor to join our finance and accounting team, looking after credit control and other accounts functions.

For Tim, who is 26 (but may be older), working at Corrotherm was all part of his game plan. “I used to have to commute to work, and decided to look for something closer to home. I ended up working for a large corporate in a large team, and my contribution was pigeon-holed and systematic. It wasn’t me at all.”

“I wanted to be part of a small team again, where I can make a difference, and where I can use my accounting and business skills to good effect. When I saw the Corrotherm role on a website, I knew it was for me - but the employment agency had overlooked me.”

If Tim hadn’t pushed for us to see his CV, we would never have had the opportunity to welcome him to our team. “I am absolutely thrilled to be here,” Tim said, “my new colleagues are all fab people.”

Many of our clients won’t necessarily appreciate hearing from Tim, as his public face generally only come out when he is chasing debtors. That aside, he is actually a pretty decent guy, and when he isn’t overseeing our finances, Tim can be found studying for his CIMA exams in May. “It’s pretty full on”, he laughs.

So how does this 26 (plus) year old, chill out between work and studies?

“I don’t often get to relax, but if I did have the opportunity for some ‘me’ time, I like to play golf, or my guitar and socialise with friends.”
“I like painting, too - nothing scenic - mainly abstracts in oils and acrylics. I also enjoy travelling (he is learning French!), cooking and going for runs.”

Asked about marriage and children, Tim answered:

“None of that. I’m still looking for my sole-mate”.

So there you have it – our new team member, and one of our friendly team who is on hand to help when you call. Welcome aboard, Tim.
