The material exhibits good long term thermal stability, excellent stress rupture characteristics which together with a good fabrication capability has caused the material to be used in the latest generation of reformer furnaces as internally finned pyrolysis tubing particularly in ethylene service. Compatible welding consumables are available and good welding characteristics are excellent in the forming of harps with associated weldolets.
