Raising money for the Ben Voller G4 fund
We recently joined a number of metals distribution companies that took part in the 14th Ben Voller G4 Fund annual golf day, to raise funds for the G4 children’s’ ward at Southampton General Hospital.
Corrotherm were responsible for organising this annual golf day, which we did in conjunction with TW Metals – and we are delighted to say that it has become a regular feature in the industry calendars, attracting a host of well-known names from the metal distribution industry, who play and/or sponsor the event. Among them are Special Metals Wiggin, Sandvik, Bohler, Fine Tubes, Philip Cornes, Aluminiumwerk Unna, Brismet and many more.
On this particular occasion, we anticipated rather glum weather while we munched away at our bacon rolls prior to the early morning tee off. By lunch time though, the sun had definitely put its hat on, and stayed that way until the last team came in.
We sponsored a team of doctors, who are all surgeons on the G4 children’s’ ward and went by the ominous name “Knives Out”.
It was a perfect day all round - and over £13,000 was raised from the golfing, and from the auction and dinner that took place afterwards.
All the funds raised will go to the nurses and doctors, who can spend it directly on items that are needed for the ward.
