We catch up with one of our most recent team members, Tom Richards, to see how he is settling into Corrotherm and his experience with the company so far.

Name: Tom Richards
Position: Sales Assistant
Time at Corrotherm: 5 months
Interests and hobbies: Cricket, dining out, socialising, watching football

Sales Assistant Tom is one of the most recent members of the Corrotherm family, having only joined us in January this year. His enthusiasm for his work and willingness to get stuck in, has meant that he has quickly become a valuable asset.

His path to Corrotherm has been varied and interesting, starting out at Brockenhurst College and on to Chichester University, where he gained a degree in Sport Sciences. After graduating he travelled to Hong Kong for a few months. While not from a typical sales background, Tom says that University helped him to understand the kind of work that he wanted to get into, which was to be part of a team and to work with computers and different software systems. “It also taught me to become more independent and improve upon my social skills,” continues Tom. “I feel I can bring this to the company in future work for Corrotherm.”

Now that he’s had a few months to get used to the job and the company, Tom has risen to the daily challenges that his role entails: “Whether it’s a new customer, enquiry, quote or order, there is always new material. [This] keeps it refreshing and ensures I have to have my brain switched on in order to complete the process. I like that the team has been so welcoming since my start and have supported me every step of my journey so far, which I really appreciate.”
As well as enjoying all of the tasks that he has been given, Tom also praises the team that he is working with saying he feels proud to work for a company where “you can find such a professional set of individuals and be able to have an enjoyable experience when in the working environment. It is very important to have a balance between the two and Corrotherm has it down to a T.”

Being relatively new to the industry, Tom is getting to grips with the challenges that are facing the oil and gas industries at present and in the future, but he is confident that Corrotherm is ready to face it head on: “I see the company continuing to progress and hit the target countries in the oil and gas industry, and I hope I can be a big part of promoting our products more and more to our clients.

When he’s not working hard in the office, Tom is usually found with friends and family. He’s a keen cricketer, both playing himself and coaching younger players to help promote new talent for his club. He is also a football fan and can often be found watching Saints, and says that he has a hidden talent for predicting football scores on a Saturday afternoon. As Tom is keen on organising social events, we’re sure that it won’t be long before he’s coming up with ideas for future Corrotherm socials and building memories with the rest of the team.
